Kicking her small legs, the child's torso twisted in the air as she began her descent to the ground. An enormous mass of energy and corruption was crystalizing in her opponent's hands. The clouds, the darkness, the malice, the hate...

She could feel it all. Her expression remained as unchanging as a mountain, as stalwart as a spartan as she watched it coalese into a dragon and came hurtling towards her at truely frightful speeds.

"Begone." She bellowed without emotion' seeming totally disinterested as she raised her hand up. It began to glow with a pure white vibrant light. The rays pierced through the clouds, and brought peace to the hearts of those watching the war from down below. It banished their doubts as they continued fighting.

The dragon impacted upon her hand, biting down upon it, but instead found itself being destroyed from inside by the light, which shone through small cracks forming all throughout its body. Only an instant later, it burst into thousands of little black shards which evaporated into the brilliant peaceful light.

"Such tricks and sorcery have nothing on the treacherous machinations of Lucifer, scum. I'll deal with you in but a moment, and send you on towards your judgement shortly. The honorable Saint Peter shall consign you to the depths of hell."

She pointed her scepter at him, and dozens of beams burst forth from it, all of them shooting towards Ezekial, spreading out as they got closer to prevent him from dodging.

BE GONE FROM MY PRESENCE!!!

Her bellow had a gravitas to it beyond that of her appearance, as if she were a being far beyond what she appeared to be. Her roar shook windows and forced the populace to the ground in reverance to their great saivor.

A crimson glow stretched over the dark roads, illuminated by the flames on the broken cars. Each one was riddled with bullet holes, a reminder of the sheer destruction that occurred when damaged. He could see it, her beautiful form standing atop the lifeless corpse, her heel digging into his back.

Victor took a deep breath."It was a few years ago, right after Mai was born. We were in a rough spot financially. Not to mention, we lived in a bad neighborhood. You know, back in the day, this was actually a nest for all sorts of monsters and such. I remember Valentine came home from work, mentioning something about a spirit, something that knew how to get rid of the gangs for good. I think that spirit granted her some kind of power."

He paused, taking a sip of his tea. "Turns out a lot of the so called monsters were just a group of delinquent gangs working together. They were all low level mages, combining illusion magic with violence, terrorizing the citizens. It didn't take much to take care of them. But well...."

Once again, he stared at his tea, spinning the water around his mug with a quick motion in his wrist. "Something changed. She left the house, said something about taking care of something, keeping us safe. When I caught up to her, she was far more powerful than she was before. It had gotten so bad that the chief decided she needed to be taken care of swiftly. Of course he failed. Another was elected and he failed. Eventually, the merging chiefs stopped trying and a small underground within this district grew."

Victor put his cup down on the table in front of him and stared down at the two girls. "If you take her down, you might be able to bring this district to an era of saftey that it hasn't seen in a while. But if you can save her, you will restore my family."

Tsumiko

The twintailed girl lowered her head and began to think about these revalations. It was torturous. If only she'd been there sooner...

If I'd been here sooner, I could have prevented all of this, and this family would be living a happy married life. I could have prevented this tragedy...

She bit her lip.

It would have been so easy. She could have tracked down the mages with her bugs and devoured the scum alive for abusing their power and tormenting innocent children who'd done nothin--

"KUH-!" "No, that's not me! That's not right, Sa-"[/color] For a brief moment, all of the chaos in Tsumiko's mind seemed to intensify and clash within the purple-haired girl, but a singular thought burst out with such vigor that Thea was able to catch parts of it.

"No! You-This!-Be quiet a-nd-listen to you-er!"

She cried out, shaking her head, her purple eyes bloodshot. She grabbed her heart, and then her cup of tea. With a quavering hand, she brought the shaking mug up to her mouth and dumped it into her open mouth, the nearly boiling water scalding her mouth and throat as it went down.

But the pain was good. It focused her mind, and she calmed down quickly. With a slight blush, she cleared her throat as if nothing was wrong. She reached out and clasped Victor's hand. His hand felt worn and tired, just like hers.

"We'll bring her back alive, even if she's kicking and screaming the entire way." She gave him a melancholy smile. "I-ngh-failed the last time I tried, but that was eight years ago.
I'm not going to fail you again
I'm not going to fail you again."

As she said those words, the chaos in her mind seemed to abate, at least temporarily. It felt as if the girl's mind was temporarily at peace with itself.

Something in Hannah's demonic blood went warm with satisfaction from seeing BB get all worked up over this! It was about as far as she would ever go with satisfying them at another's expense instead of her own. So she just grinned up at her, and nodded. "Sure, sure. Just ahh, I'm not very good at basketball."

Better than most of the old high school team just on physical advantage, but only just.

"Hohoho, That's ok. I've never lost a game*, ever." She deposited the girl on the ground. "Now find a place I can use my skills to make us a bite to eat!"

Ivanna smirked, and slightly turned her wrist, twirling the scepter around in her fingers as if it were but a cheerleader's baton, her arms dancing around. The beam tore through the sky, shattering the malformed clouds and piercing the corruption. "Burn, scum."

Neat trick, he thought as he watched her tie her hair up with magic.  It was stuff like this that made him wonder if it would be fun to have powers.  But that thought was always grounded by his wife's story.

"I appreciate that," he said nodding.  He walked behind her and grabbed the two cups, handing them off to the girls as he returned to his position across the table.  "And the hospitality is just the right thing to do.  As for her strengths and weaknesses, I'm not sure.  I can tell you she wasn't always this powerful.  I can tell you she is far stronger than a normal human and she uses this strength to wield a massive chain gun." 

Victor stared into his tea, watching the way the water rippled into the sides of the cup, only to be met with a wall beyond its power.  There was a pause as he watched that phenomenon.  In that moment, he wore a soft frown with eyes that longed for the past.  "I could tell you what happened if you think that will help."

An image of a smiling woman and child flashed through the man's head as he watched the shockwave of qater come hurtling towards him. He cleared his mind.

Now wasn't the time. They'd be taken care of. He didn't need to worry about anything but defeating this monster.

He knew Ivanna would make sure they were taken care of. That they'd go on, to live a good life.

He raised his tower shield and steeled his arm, gritting his teeth as the sheer force of the water slammed against his arm, the enormous force forcing him back several feet. Chips of his skin fell off as it traveled up his arm and into his shoulder. It hurt. Tremendously. "Ahnnnggh!" His arm was probably broken.

But he kept going, and swung his sword again, another brilliant beam hurtling directly towards Oryuu. He felt no fear, no despair, and was perfectly calm.

And he readied himself for the final blow that would end it all.

The man pulled a small stone out of a pocket on his belt, and struck it against his armour. Immediately, the water seemed to become clearer, purer. But more importantly, it emitted a bright light, allowing the man to see.

So there you are.

He unsheathed his sword, ignoring the bits of skin chipping off his body as it slowly turned to salt. Four brilliant runes glowed in the water, and he swung it. A brilliant beam burst from the tip of the blade, a beam of light the shade of a brilliant blue. What water was supposed to look like

He smiled as it shot forth toward Oryuu, swimming downwards towards her.

She wasn't too full anymore. Oryuu was in a middling point after using up her powers so many times. With how slow those arrows were it was child's play to just scoot out of the way and toss a massive boulder in retaliation at the watchtower in return.

A small figure flitted out in the distance, jumping back towards the forest. This is bad. She thought. I need to warn the empress at once we need reinforcements! Elites!

The woman pulled out a small gun and fired a flare into the sky, signaling her plan.


The armored knight steeled himself as he saw the flare.

"So this is it." He mused to himself, smiling. He'd always known he'd die in this line of work. That's why it paid so well. The empress didn't like the idea of Elites, she considered them uncouth mercanaries outside her control.

And that's why she'd been hiring them as a sortt of small permanent army.

"Hehehe, hahahaha!"

He stomped his foot, causing the water to splash, and readied his sword.

"So be it, Adriana. You run away while I bait the monster away. Coward."

Anderson smiled. "Maybe I'll surprise you, and give you a good punch in the face as punishment for abandoning me."

And with that, he charged, screaming.

One of her hands came to rest on her face, and she looked every bit embarrassed. It at least distracted her from the embarrassment of her slowly deflating belly.

The now naked Succubus chortled, and snapped her fingers. Lily went flying across the room, finding herself absolutely unable to progress. A beam fired out towards the rub, but narrowly missed it and flew right past Suerte's head. She then appeared behind Suerte, a huge grin on her face.
