You may notice that we have several themes for you to choose from. While development will likely be focused on our current default (Dark Side), we're willing to take feedback and advice on the themes we have to choose from, including which ones should just be eliminated altogether.

To change your theme, simply use the theme switcher at the bottom of the page.

Or, to do it the hard way, in the bar of options presented to you, hover over "Profile," and go into account settings. On the screen that appears next, hover over "modify profile" and go into "look and layout." In the top row is a link to change your theme setting. Once you hit "change," you'll be taken to the theme selection screen. You can select a theme from there.

So far our most usable themes are these:

  • Dark Side (current default)
  • Dark Side: Binary Sea
  • Unlimited Blade Works
  • Red It Random
  • curve-mobile (the mobile theme. I think it's kind of bright right now, but I'll leave that for your guys to judge. According to the description, it should appear by default on mobile devices or similar. If not, you can easily switch to it using the theme switcher at the bottom of the page.
There are others, but either I feel there's still some changes to be made or am thinking about removing those themes. I also didn't mention the Curve or Core themes, as they are SMF defaults (and are also kinda ugly).

Since I'm the person in charge of all things theme related, it's probably best to ask me for the most part to institute any changes. I'll try to get them changed ASAP. Note that my coding ability is somewhat limited, so while I can make minor changes to code with little problems, anything that's more advanced will likely become Cherry Lover's domain, but I will do what I can. So then, fire away!

Another thing I'm concerned about is if you choose to make it a full on lemon contest, not a lot of people are willing to write lemons or will be too nervous to do so.  (For example we only had two lemon entries in my recent contest we only had two entries for lemon.)
Yeah, that's a definite risk (while I'd probably consider trying, I know I'd be more than a little nervous, to be perfectly honest ^_^"). Another problem is that if I take on judging duty, I'll probably be somewhat limited in my judging capacity. I'm still on a bit of a learning curve when it comes to lemons, so it's possible my judging may not be the strongest for that type of contest. It may be possible to work around it though. Even if we can't pull off a lemon contest just yet though, there's likely something else we can do in terms of creating a unique and fun contest for people to enter into. :)

*BRO FIST*
*Returns Brofist* Tis good stuff.  ;D

Oh my, there seems to be a lot of Tamers' fans around here (me included).
It would seem so. :D I'm not too surprised, since Season 3 is well written and very entertaining to watch, especially for what's considered a kid's show.  ;D

I like the words Mil is saying. :) But yeah, since the forum's still on the smaller side, it might not hurt to have the categories for entries be on the broad side of the spectrum.  And we should hopefully have more people soon. :)

But yeah, sadly I have no prizes to offer other than giving the winner a fancy glowy name and a special usergroup due to lack of money. :( I can, however, judge if need be. I can also enter. ;)

And your art is good KAIZA. :D Whether you think it's prize worthy or not is entirely up to you though. :)

Digimon is a better franchise in world building, characters and anime, but Pokémon takes the cake in gaming. Digimon games are okay, but not awesome.

Yeah, the Digimon games can be pretty hit or miss. Even if the main games are somewhat formulaic, there's a reason the Pokemon franchise has lasted as long as it has, and with as minimal changes to the basic formula that it has. :) Some of the spinoff games are pretty fun too, like Pokemon Conquest for instance. Digimon has a special place in my heart too though, even if for the first 4 seasons of the anime (I think 3 is the best though :) ).

As for me, I mostly play RPGs of some type, though I'm especially fond of Tactical RPGs, though I have absolutely no problems with turn based or action RPGs. :D I like stuff like Harvest Moon as well, or fun platformers or fighting games as well. :D I'm into all sorts of things. :3 ...We should probably set up some sort of casual Melty Blood Tourney at some point, that might be pretty fun. :3

Yeah, I can understand that part. :) But yeah, there's plenty of reasons to use Gil, even if you don't like the guy. :) Though I have to admit, the Cast Off! scene is gold, even if you're not too fond of Goldie. :3

I'm not a huge Gil fangirl really, but Gil does at least have the stuff where he reveals what's going on behind the scenes plus his back story to entice people into playing with him as their servant. Plus his CGs for completionists. :D

This thread is for the inevitable pain that Shadowgate's inclusion in the Arcade will cause.

So share your gripes, triumphs, and most humorous deaths here! Some hints and tips:

  • This game is hard. Really hard. Don't be scared to use a walkthrough to make it through!
  • Always take the torches. You can die by having one go out, so make sure to relight your torch when it's about to go out!
  • Save liberally. Even if this emulator loses your progress once you leave the page, it saves it so long as you don't close out of that window, so save often!

I'll add more if anyone posts any other good tips and tricks. But yeah, have fun, and don't die! :3 Also, if anyone posts a walkthrough here, please do so in spoiler tags for the sake of the crazy people trying to complete this game blind.

Announcements / About the Retro Space
« on: April 14, 2013, 05:58:51 AM »
So the Retro Space is a NES emulator. It can hold up to 5 roms we upload into it at a time. It's pretty cool. :3

Things you need to know about it:

  • You'll need Java installed to run it.
  • Make sure to enter something into the little box that pops up and then close the box. It doesn't matter what you enter, really.
  • It does not save your progress if you leave the page. This is in spite of what that box that pops up seems to imply. Make sure to have the page on a seperate tab if you don't want to lose your progress.
  • Shadowgate will always be there. Because I enjoy your pain. >:3

But yeah, it works well, and it's pretty neat~ Give it a shot! :D

Also, we need more games to fill up the roster. Therefore, we're open to suggestions on which games you want in there. :) Remember, they have to be games for the NES. Even when the roster is filled though, we can always switch them out, so if there's a game you would like on there instead of another game that's on there, feel free to throw the suggestion our way. :) Well, except for replacing Shadowgate. Shadowgate will always be there. Haunting you. Tormenting you.

Note: Please take all comments to the global announcement version of this topic!

So yeah, the game is officially out now and looks pretty awesome. Get hype~

Talk about it here. Since the game just came out and is yet to be localized, however, make sure to post all spoilers in spoiler tags.
