"Um... I'll pass." He told the man in the odd shirt flatly before focusing back on the slightly less agonizing subject.

"Mhhh, maybe~" He quipped cheerfully, looking out of the window without a care. "So, what's with the visit? Did you get sore from sitting on your chair all day? Aw, poor you."

His flames intensified for a second, and his eyes glowed with fierce desire. The moon looked quite beautiful today, perhaps it would shine even brighter than usual tonight.

"So what are the orders this time?"

"Heh, I'm surprised you can walk with a straight face with a shirt like that." He answered the boy with flat humor. Really, now that was a strange fashion style if he saw one. He waved politely to the man named Jones. "Lorenzo." He said, and just like that everyone in the car stopped being strangers.

"Jesus, are you a kid or what? You don't need my validation for everything boss, I can hear you painfully clearly." He sighed, like that was a displeasure in itself.

"Here." He took a piece of paper off his sleeve like a magic trick and handed it to Hazel, somehow managing not to burn it.

The pirate ignored her comment, or perhaps he didn't feel the need to answer her remark. The sort of bond between a subordinate and a captain wasn't the sort that needed words to be expressed. He opened the car with his fiery grip, content to take the backsteat, letting his boots rest over the driving seat.

"Yo."He called the strangers out before stretching his way into a comfortable laidback position.

Vanguard's eyes narrowed as he observed her. She didn't take the bait, or at least she seemed to be taking her time. How curious, was this really the answer she had come up with?

His eyes followed the metal pipe and showed no hint of displeasure as he came crashing down along the support beam. His feet never left it, he did not touch the ground even once. Instead, the  metal beam crashed on the floor where Molly stood, causing a massive could of smoke to rise.

And within the cloud, after a solemn silence, metal clapped against metal.

"Not bad. Not bad..."

He stepped forward,  leaving the ledge of metal that stuck out of the ground like a hill of steel.

"Congratulations, you have reached the pinnacle. Now let us see if you can remain in it." He boomed into motion with an explosion of lightning, charging at her like a bullet.  She couldn't have possibly thought he didn't see this coming. This is where the real test began.

Could she make it? Or would she fall?

The construction site was abandoned for some time, and formerly housed a gang. Weeded out, all of its history faded into obscurity, and it became little more than a convenient territory for the man in question. It was apparently meant to have been a building at one point, but the labor never finished. All that proved its existance were unfinished floors, walls and steel pillars and rows hanging ominously, a testament of human engineering.

And at the top, standing over a metal beam held by a crane reaching up to the pinnacle of the undone tower, he stood as proud as ever, the closest to the heavens he had been in a while. He held out his arms to the side, like a preacher singing and welcoming her into his heart. She was to reach the pinnacle of this tower, and he was to stop her. Nothing more, nothing less.

"Come, I await you!" He called to her, a proclamation that would ready his spirit as much as hers.

"Hehe, quit complimenting me. It's embarassin'." Despite her body's state, she talked as cheerfully as ever. If it wasn't for the tired, beaten look in her eyes, you'd swear she was as fine as ever.  She could hardly move her torn limbs, and the vice grip caused her to hack some blood. "Jesus...  talk about a letdown. Welp, at least my parent's ain't here to be disappoint."

Her skin burned and crumbled away, revealing a tar-black hound held by the throat instead, littered with wounds. Sheesh, fucking christ. Now she was all naked, that creepy old bastard must've been having a field day right now. Oh well, she did her best. Time to do better next time, if there'd be one.

"Oh. You should probably pack her somewhere. Poor girl might get a sunburn." Her glowing eyes shifted to the green mess Orianna was holding. "Shove her up your ass or something if you can't help it. Not like I care."

The demon smiled serenely, his ears clearly reacting to the compliment and perking excitedly. "Ah, I see. Well, I don't mind being your companion." He said calmly before drinking his cup, but left the food utterly untouched. It was strange, was he somehow not hungry?

Mh, the leaves turned out quite splendidly.

"Though I wonder, how much do you know about demons?" He asked her, the look of curiosity far from hidden in his eyes. "You don't strike me as an exorcist or omnyouji. Ah, forgive me, it is just curiosity."

The skeleton took a deep breath, despite the fact it did not need to do such a thing in the first place. This was quite a pickle, and oh boy did pickles love him lately. "Yes, yes." He sighed tiresomely before heading to the car. But before then, he turned his head to glance at Nep.

"Heh, it was fun. We should hang out some more next time." He said in casual cheer as he headed to the vehicle. If she came with her ass all this way to get to him, it meant she either didn't know she could talk to him through their link, was about to do something really stupid, or worse, something bad happened and it was probably his fault.

He wouldn't be surprised if it was all three.

The vampire smashed her fist into her palm, grinning with tenfold elation and a hundredfold malice. There was no fucking way she could match that monster, at best she could evade and survive her.

That, she knew. She was pretty good at not dying after all. But even if she was fine with her being a wall, it didn't mean she didn't care about it. No, the fact it was right in front of her made her want to smash it all the harder, even if it meant breaking everything she was to accomplish that.

"Inhuman shitstain dead apostle, Costin Andrei!" Blood seeped from her eyes, nails and mouth, covering her body like snakes coiling around her until she was fully clad in an armor of bloody steel. Her claws were like daggers, weapons in their own right that could make mince out of a car.

She took a wild, beastly stance, displaying her full predator body that stretched to tear its foe apart. Her eyes glowed with unmatched intensity, was it hate or love? It didn't matter, she'd destroy them all. The blood wolf mask opened gaping to reveal the ebony beast, her flesh torn and fused with her exoskeleton, but grinning nonetheless.
                                                                                                       end
And the beast charged, its armor and thorns ready to clash with her opponent.

"LET'S GOOO!!"

"Right away! I can assure you all your ails will soon be forgotten." His hair and body cooled down and turned back to its original colors before he rushed back like a blue streak of light, faster than the human eye could perceive.

It took a surprisingly short amount of time, less than a couple of minutes all things considered, he brought a platter with two cups and a scalding hot teapot on one hand, and hamburgers with fries on another.

"Here is your tea. Ah, if you don't mind, I've made some by myself as well. Leaves are plentiful to find lately, so it would be a waste not to enjoy them." He was smiling serenely, somehow he had also managed to change into a cooking apron in-between. Just what was that man? Even for a demon, this wasn't exactly common.

He put the platter down and sat, pouring her a cup. He had used fresh herbs, some with spiritual properties that should soothe most ills. He had once given this meal to a wounded and poisoned warrior, and he left the inn fully recovered! Truly, the Nexus was filled with amazing things.

"So what brings you here, miss Lizzie? You're not by chance a newcomer, are you?"

Aw man. That was just rude. The way she avoided her explosive love broke her heart. Then again, the green haired one was the one who broke the most out of all this. Maybe she shouldn't get in the middle of a lover's quarrel then, fucking retard.

--!

The blast blew her limbs apart, turning her into a mangled mess fit of a contemporary art museum, rag-dolling uselessly until she fell into the filth and grime. "Shut the fuck up you weakass filth. If you want to be of help, why don't you off yourself like the braindead monkey you are!?"

Despite the spat venom, she didn't look one tad displeased. The distance between the doll and apostle was made greater, but both knew it would take an instant to close it once more.

The vampire cracked her knuckles and grinned ferociously, crimson and ebony eyes pulsating with malice as she stared the doll down.

"Heh, not bad motherfucker! This is getting my blood boiling a tad, I might just get wet from all this. C'mon, give me your name. You got one, don't you?"

Oh my, goodness. Just what was he going to do? What was the right course to take in those kind of situations again? Usually you'd give your name before kissing a stranger, this was all so sudden. Oh, he was afraid he couldn't quite keep up with the times anymore. But of all things, his hair? Why, this was quite something. Sadly, she might realize one day he did not have any, hohoho!

"My name is Engetsu. It is very nice to meet you." He lowered his head to bow, out of respect of course. He sounded all around serene, zen some might call it. Well, he also sounded rather shy from this whole situation, but if anything he managed to hide it pretty well, if he wasn't flushing to the point of being a red glow stick that is.

"You're pretty. Strong. Yes, strong." He managed to say, though he had almost fell into a most troubling predicament. "Can I make you some tea? Or something stronger perhaps."

The demon was caught completely unawares, grasped by the girl's powerful grip, there was no escape left for the poor soul. Despite his stoic demeanor, even while his eyes were closed and he kept his polite smile the girl managed to make him sound timid, if only slightly.

"Hey, now then-"

And then, it happened. He had no way to counter an attack like this. She had fount the chink in the armor, the pillar that made the fortress crumble. His skin reddened and his hair began to glow red hot like a forged blade beaten by flame and hammer, nothing but demonic energy swelling at the sudden contact, surely.

"Wha?" Was all he managed to blurt out. What just happened? Did his eyes, no, lips just deceive him? No no, that couldn't be right. While he wouldn't call himself unattractive, and was not inexperienced when it came to this, he could count the times something like this happened in his lengthy life on one hand at best.

He looked completely out of the loop and lost, it was kind of adorable in its own way. He looked like he was about to melt any second now out of sheer embarrassment.

"Hoho. Of course, well, there are many demons. The ones you know might look scarier, but I can assure you I am not lying." He finally managed to say, puffing his chest proudly. If she thought this was enough to make a demon who lived over a thousand years lose composure, she'd be sorely disappointed!

The pirate felt a shiver down his spine when he heard the foreboding crash, only to turn chilled when he heard the voice.

" *Gasp* I would never! How dare you make such an accusation!!" He crossed his arms to form an X as if it would protect him-

Only to stare sheepishly at his boss. "Ah, it's you." He answered flatly, like he shouldn't have been surprised in the first place. Then, he turned to Nep with a relaxed hand. "Hey, hey. Relax, it's just my girlfriend."

Fast, how fast, and skilled too. He would've hardly done it any better himself if he tried. Honestly, he felt a slight chill on his spine. To think someone this strong had come to his doorstep.

For as stoic as he was, even he couldn't help but stare wide eyed and sheepishly as someone truly shocked to the core. One might even say he was stunned.

But the girl's question called him back to the present. His ears perked and he gave the girl a curious look. "Gods? Oh dear, i'm sorry to say I've never met one in my life." He shook his head pitifully but smiled nonetheless. "I've lived for many years, and the times taught me that there is no joy in living without a smile. But to answer your question, I'm what some would call a demon."
