Post by: Kat on November 09, 2014, 07:30:25 PM
Since I'm bored, and the site where I made similar thread is under maintenance, I'll create it too here.

My favorite philosopher is Nietzsche, he is sugoi and best waifu. Faito me.

Nietzsche is a pretty cool guy, though he cuts his own "legs" off in his arguments reason as a tool used against science and religion, but Zeno of Elea is far more entertaining.

Yeah, I find Zeno's paradox interesting because it's actually a mathematical problem rather than a philosophical one, and one which it took a long time to actually resolve.

Ah, but originally philosophy included under its umbrella math and science.

True. In fact, even today a doctorate in most subjects (including maths and science) gives you the title "Doctor of Philosophy". However, I would still call it a "mathematical problem", because it's one that can be solved by sufficient understanding of limits and infinite series.

Granted, I'm now a philosophy and religion major with a friend who is likely a bad influence. Speaking philosophically might just inflate the ego. Maybe.
