The Heavenly Ruins

An archipelago of celestial landmarks, hills and locations, wrecked in an ancient battle and drawn into the Nexus after many years. It expands in the skies over the sea, as far as the eye can see...

The Grand Sky Theater

A palace built by divine beings, which floats above the clouds. It is a landmark of a forgotten age, with verdant gardens and pure stone marble that stretches wide above the sky. Its peak is the statue of a woman, a former goddess who was slain by her lover. A human girl who is now embracing the heavens, with that same brilliant smile. It is now a ruin, with its structures eroded by time and battle, but the singer stands nonetheless. The view is simply spectacular, and evokes a calm feeling.

This coliseum in the sky was her final resting place.

The Great Southern Sea

A vast expanse of saltwater where man and creature fear to thread. It is thanks to the naval expertise of Albion and its neighboring isles that eyes, hands, and ears have finally begun to search an uncover the mysteries of this aquatic domain. But beyond the shores, beyond all that, the sea expands and deepens, and when miles become leagues, and when even the scantest scrap of land is but a dot in the horizon, even the light of the sun quakes and ceases to be.

Beyond the safety of the city, beyond civilization, even the sea takes a darker color. Strange aquatic creatures become monstrous beasts of the sea. Monstrous serpents, krakens and indescribable creatures roam the skies and seas, and mere relics become forgotten artifacts of old. Even the air turns vile, toxic and impossible to survive for normal living organisms without tools or special abilities to thread these unhospitable waters.

There is a great number of wreckages where man has tried and failed to thread. And yet, there is a promise and a lure of something grand, something greater than what anyone should hope to hold. Wonders from different worlds, different times, have sunk to the bottom of this sea. Great fallen temples and monuments of ancient civilization, now nothing more than nests for dark beasts.

But beware, adventurers. For sometimes, the sea is more than a refuge. It can be a prison. One that keeps the wariest of sailors trapped.

Or one that keeps the ones beneath the depths away.

The Curse Of the Southern Sea - A passage of an old adventurer's memoir:

"And I  saw it... in all it's glory. In all it's terror. Aaaah! [REDACTED] Damn ye! Let Neptune strike ye dead, [REDACTED]!
Hark! Hark, Triton. Hark! Bellow, bid our father, the sea king, rise from the depths, full foul in his fury, black waves teeming with salt-foam, to smother this young mouth with pungent slime, to choke ye,
engorging your organs till ye turn blue and bloated with bilge, and brine, and can scream no more.
Only when, he, crowned in cockle shells, with slithering tentacled tail, and steaming beard, takes up his fell, be-finnèd arm,
his coral-tined trident screeches banshee-like in the tempest, and plunges right through your gullet, bursting ye, a bulging bladder no more,
but a blasted bloody film now, a nothing for the Harpies, and the souls of dead sailors to peck and claw and feed upon, only to be lapped up and swallowed by the infinite waters of the dread emperor himself.
Forgotten to any man, to any time, forgotten to any god, or devil, forgotten even to the sea,
for any stuff, or part of you, even any scantling of your soul, is [REDACTED] no more, but is now itself the sea."

THE BLESSED WOODLANDS

Even a devil may cry remembering a fallen promise from long ago. And from the heavens beyond the Nexus, tears fell onto the earth in the form of shattered angelic wings. Some shards fell into a piece's clutches, only to fall into darkness forever. Others latched unto the one who delivered judgement, others were claimed by the one who maintains balance, and another latched onto a troubling memory.

The grace of purity that chooses between life and death shattered into a million shards, and these jewels were claimed by many. But its will remained, it did not extinguish yet. And of the countless pieces, some made way into the depths of the earth and impregnated the Nexus's soil with something else. This is the result.

The Flora

On the ground where the Archangel of Death was once fought, the earth has turned into a charcoal black deeper than the night sky. In a few days, surprising phenomena have occurred. This place that was once nothing more than a slum was flattened by thick vegetation, which expanded and eventually settled into an alien biome.  The most striking feature of these countless alien plants and structures is their pallid white color, which glows like the white moon and contrasts against the earth beautifully. One cannot recognize the different herbs easily, and you would never find any description in a book.

But from their shapes and sizes, you can deduct their differences and how much angelic power they hold, due to those holding more power having a stronger glow. Trees curl unnaturally and form towers around the area, and thick brush and thorns  guard the pure white forest. But for those brave enough to enter, one will find a thousand miracles. From plants that can restore one's beauty, to flowers that can grant youth, to medicinal plants that can cure nearly any ail. Some even move and come alive, and the black soil is so rich and bountiful that it will allow crops to grow and harvest fully in but three days. Even if you completely deforested the area, the  awe-inspiring flora would re-emerge, and even grow in size and reach for the black earth would spread its influence the more one takes from its soil!

It is a gift from God in the form of a bountiful feast from the earth's womb.

The Fauna

The animals are wondrous beasts of the forest. From great stags to wild birds and even bears, each is mighty enough to be considered a supernatural entity, tough their power is not so destructive they'd pose a direct threat to the more powerful supernaturals of the Nexus itself unless you litterally stood still and just let the bear bite you. In that case.... why? (Usually around the incredible range, maybe a big more imposing one could have a fantastic or two).

Just like the flora, they too are of a shining ivory color, possibly hinting to a greater power that dwells within them. Their bones, flesh, and even hide are valuable holy artifacts, one could certainly forge great weapons from their remains. However, their most striking aspect is their intelligence. They have the mind and heart of man, but without the ugly wickedness that can sprout in humanity. They are perfectly capable of speech through paths, which connect all that step foot in the forest. These paths are a network that connects everything to the heart of the forest, which rests thousands of feet underground.

The seed that sprouts everything, the original Grace of purity.

The Sky

Once one steps into the forest, the sky itself seems to change. In truth, the Nexus remains the same, but once you enter the Forest you enter a pocket domain within it, and thus the property of the sky changes and affects the perception of those who look up to it. It is a perpetual night, filled with thousands of jewels that shine above all. These stars form paths that guide one's heart, and as long as you follow the roads in the sky, you will never be lost. Perhaps, they will even show you what your heart truly seeks.

In the center of it all, there is a crack, a hole so to speak of. It exists, yet not truly. It is nothing more than a portal between mind and matter, dream and reality. It is only visible within the forest, perhaps because it only exists in it. But despite its ephemeral nature, the beasts of the forest gaze up to it, sometimes seemingly praying to whatever lurks beneath the void. The remains of something that succumbed in the depths of the void within this world.

HIGHWAY 13

A conglomerate of roads and highways interconnecting and coursing through all of Nexus city. It goes over roadways, bridges, and just holds it all together for those in need of vehicles. It is particularly impressive, especially at night time.

It's also unfortunately often the recipient of superhuman chases that send cars flying as hazards and tankers collapsing sideways. A permanent clean-up crew is attached to it as a result.

Name: Lance Jackson

Race: Cyborg Human/Archangel

Age: 35 as per his Nexus Citizen Certificate

Height: 200 cm

Weight: 100 kg

Appearance:

Spoiler for Hiden:

Physical Attributes

Strength: Heroic

Agility: Fantastic

Durability: Heroic

Holy Power: Extremely High

Some may assume it is the sword or the holy components in his body that grant him this immense miraculous holy powers, but he says they would hardly power anything without heart, the fervent faith that is not bound by writing or dogma, but true love and compassion. He can touch a man and heal even the most grievous wounds and sicknesses(only others), though resurrection is beyond his reach and this seems to greatly exhaust him the more he uses it, as if he used his own life force in exchange.

He can also purify an area from curses and afflictions through his special exorcisms. By reciting prayers, he can even execute powerful demons, though higher ones will require more lengthy chants and some ass kicking prior. Finally, by casting magic and using the pages of his bible, he can seal an area (about the size of a building) with divine protection, ensuring that no unholy force can escape or enter the domain unless he is slain or the powerful barrier is shattered.

His strongest exorcism involves focusing holy energy into his fist in the form of a gigantic flaming fireball punch that purges evil.

Other Abilities:

Holy Cybernetic Body: Most of Lance’s body was replaced by magitech components in order to fight the front lines during the greatest magic war the world had ever known. Now empowered by the power of prayer, his skeleton is tough enough to withstand a bus crash, swim in lava, take a shower in lethal poison, eat tons of natto every morning without literally dying, generate enough heat to create a nice warm swimming pool to relax with the cuties and toast bread between his thighs.

Enhanced senses: All of Lance’s senses are incredible in their own right. He can pick up a whispered conversation in another room while chilling, sense poison particles and feel extremely slight vibrations. All of these base attributes factor into his speed, reflexes and overall ability, and don’t quite stack to make him even more monstrous, but his outright supernatural sight can observe even the tiniest of details, make use of his photographic memory, see through solid objects and read projectile trajectories as long as the shooter is visible and observe from kilometers away. His dexterity is on a whole different level, and he is a Card Castle Stacking Champion and has been for over 15 years.

None of this is due to his cybernetic enhancements. In fact, those are quite minimal to begin with.

Milkshake Mixer: By ingesting milk, frozen fruit and different condiments like chocolate and the like, he can grind them up and mix them before serving them through a compartment in his stomach, making for delicious and nutritious snacks.

Master Fighter: Lance is a greatly trained swordsman, masterfully skilled in an over the top Iaido style to the point that any cybernetic skill enhancement would have been redundant to begin with. He is also a greatly skilled hand to hand fighter, borrowing heavily from eastern martial arts that were taught to samurai, and can perform stunts that borderline on the gravity-defying impossible, as if things like swords and martial arts were second nature to him.

Equipment:

Uriel: An angelic sword he says he found in a dump after he woke up from a really bad hangover. Obviously, its not meant to be used by humans, but with his ridiculous strength there are very few things he can’t cut. It had other properties, but only its original wielder could use them.

Out of all of its abilities, the one he can use is to cut what can't normally be cut, and slay ghosts and other beings who couldn't be harmed with normal weaponry. Those of unholy or evil affinity will have their healing greatly reduced, the sword is practically anathema to all things dark and demonic. It is also so tough it can withstand a nuclear strike, and makes for a great tool to spread jam on toast.

In fact, it's nothing more than an ordinary wooden sword.

Holy Bible

Near Endless Supply of Roses

Motorbike: It’s actually slower than him, but he’ll be damned if it isn’t a fine piece of machinery. There’s also nothing like riding in the sunset with a cute girl strapping on his back.

Origin:

Mister, do you want to be a real hero?

After World War 3, the world was overcome by devastation. Countries were now little more than barren wastelands ruled by petty warlords. There was a former soldier who wanted to make a difference and turned to God when there was nowhere else to turn to. He became a priest and would go around the nation, healing the sick, carving his own justice when there was so little left. He saved so many lives, and became a true hero.

Weakness: He has an absolute code of honor that prevents him from pointing his blade against sexy girls wearing less clothes than he does, even if he absolutely has to it would make such battles “the hardest ones he’s ever fought, even harder than the final boss”.  That or his other head does 90% of his thinking.

He is also brash and quick to follow his emotions despite his carefree attitude, and is the kind of guy that tries to shoulder everything himself instead of relying on others, which can lead to his downfall. He is also either merciful or cocky to a fault, and cares more about winning cooly than practically. Despite his overkilling style he rarely finishes off his enemies with an all too carefree attitude. But there are things even he can’t forgive. He’s just a priest after all.

Also naked aprons, hand bra jeans, socks and gloves. Actually everything in that category.

Likes: His above weakness, a good fight, his wondrous pecs, his marvelous visage, his luscious biceps, his bodicious body, kicking ass to kickass music, cheesy one liners,  people who believe in the right thing and don’t just follow some dumb code for the heck of it, having fun with hot girls, pulp action movies, japanese swords, eating and partying and having a good time all night every day, money, delivering JUSTICE!

Dislikes: Not getting to kick ass, assholes, wifebeaters, cruelty.

Cross Effects / Dropped Character Thread

Name: Willy

Race: Killer Whale

Age: 21

Height: 160 cm (hair makes him look taller)

Weight: 70 kg

Appearance:

Physical Attributes

Strength: Fantastic(Heroic bite)

Agility: Fantastic

Durability: Fantastic

Magic Scale: None

Other Abilities:

Transcendental bartender: Willy is, simply put, a bartender without human peer. His cocktails have been told to cure disease and broken marriages. However, they are incapable of fixing your bad taste.

Killer Whale Style: Willy is a complete martial arts master, to the point he is able to perform a secret technique that lets you bite the crap out of your opponents. His teeth can basically gnaw through anyone. Reinforced steel is no better than a cracker to him, and his slashing teeth chew and gnash at his victims until they become bloodied mess and he's done having fun with his food. Then he eats them. His stomach also has infinite capacity, and he doesn't get any fatter no matter how much he chomps down. He's also ridiculously good at flipping people upside down, to the point he made up a game called "How many times can I punt the shark until it splatters?"

The answer is a lot of times.

Killer Whale Sonar: Orcas use echolocation to talk to each other and hunt. They will make a sound that travels through the water until sound waves hit an object. Then, the sound wave will bounce back to the orca. Using this technique, they are able to detect where objects and other orcas are in the area. They can also find out the size and shape of an object using echolocation. With that, it doesn't matter if he is blinded and he can easily see through his smoke.

Transform: The ability to transform into a humanoid small compact boy. By reverting that, he becomes an actual killer whale. He can't really walk though if he reverts, so to move around freely he'd need to swim in a body of water.

Speak of the devil: The uncanny ability to appear wherever he is being spoken or thought of despite how impossible it is.

Impossible dexterity: Willy’s dexterity is an ability all in itself. Somehow, he is able to cling to the most impossible of surfaces, be it ceilings, walls, moving vehicle rear ends or people’s fingers. But most importantly, he can cling to his hopes and dreams.

Smoker: Smoking 20 packs a day sure paid off! By smoking, he can envelop an entire building in a thick cloud of smoke. Said smoke clouds supernatural senses, sight and smell unless up close while acting as a soundproof domain that splits the inside from the outside. Then he'll need to smoke another 20 packs.

Oxygenize: Orcas can breathe underwater, it is known! Some can even harness and bend the oxygen in water to make a barrier that lets people breathe. It's pretty much it.

Killer glare: Orcas are terrifying, inhuman creatures. While their aura is not necessarily evil or scary even, it is most definitely otherworldly. A menacing look can make even seasoned men feel unnerved.

Toughness: Willy is a tough boy, to the point he won’t die when stabbed in the chest by a bunch of harpoons as long as he isn’t like, cut in half or decapitated.

Equipment:

The Chum Bucket: A bar he's running for his boss. It ain't his, but he got to renovate it and turn what was once a pitiful fast food joint into an incredibly successful sushi bar.

Super bartending suit: An amazingly tailored vest that can take a lotta damage and not have to worry about breaking, enough that he doesn't have to worry about not looking classy against even foes. Its purpose isn't to protect its user, but rather the suit. It is no ordinary vest, after all it was tailored with the skin of unborn penguin babies.

Heart Underpants:
His most prized possession.

Hawaii Shirts: He couldn’t quite digest those.

A cardboard box: A man’s gotta sleep somewhere.

Origin: Willy was once a spy and assassin for his totalitarian home country, the Red Sea. However, when the war was lost and he managed to escape, he found himself with little to nothing to do. So he did the one thing he could, and slept. A lot.

He woke up in a strange place, and decided to turn his life around by being a honest businessman. Mostly. And that is the plot for the unreleased movie, Free Willy 4.

Weakness: He lacks resistance against magic and is whimsical enough that he'll probably just stop mauling your friends if you ask nicely, unless you are a penguin, shark or demon.

Likes: Taking strolls, penguins, getting drunk, eating, humans, fooling around, bullying the weak, bullying the strong, kicking children around, sleeping, drinking, watching tv, mundane things, fun things, fish.

Dislikes: Demons, sharks, not getting to laze around, being called a fish, taxes, getting his tail stepped on.
