You may notice that we have several themes for you to choose from. While development will likely be focused on our current default (Dark Side), we're willing to take feedback and advice on the themes we have to choose from, including which ones should just be eliminated altogether.
To change your theme, simply use the theme switcher at the bottom of the page.
Or, to do it the hard way, in the bar of options presented to you, hover over "Profile," and go into account settings. On the screen that appears next, hover over "modify profile" and go into "look and layout." In the top row is a link to change your theme setting. Once you hit "change," you'll be taken to the theme selection screen. You can select a theme from there.
So far our most usable themes are these:
- Dark Side (current default)
- Dark Side: Binary Sea
- Unlimited Blade Works
- Red It Random
- curve-mobile (the mobile theme. I think it's kind of bright right now, but I'll leave that for your guys to judge. According to the description, it should appear by default on mobile devices or similar. If not, you can easily switch to it using the theme switcher at the bottom of the page.
There are others, but either I feel there's still some changes to be made or am thinking about removing those themes. I also didn't mention the Curve or Core themes, as they are SMF defaults (and are also kinda ugly).
Since I'm the person in charge of all things theme related, it's probably best to ask me for the most part to institute any changes. I'll try to get them changed ASAP. Note that my coding ability is somewhat limited, so while I can make minor changes to code with little problems, anything that's more advanced will likely become Cherry Lover's domain, but I will do what I can. So then, fire away!

Please, please please change the default theme from red on purple. It looks horrid, burns my eyes, and compared to BL's looks like we're trying far too hard.

I think it's fine, it gives a clear identity to the site (I do like binary sea more personally though)

Nah, I can try changing the red part to a shade of purple and see if that helps. It'll have to wait until Cherry gets back online though for it to get changed because it's simpler for me in this case to just have him throw the file in the backend so I don't have to risk having to redo some stuff. ^_^" Is that OK?

Lantz, it looks ugly and kinda hurts my eyes just to look at it for too long.
For that matter, it isn't letting me switch themes around ::PANIC::

Really? How is purple-on-purple better than red-on-purple...?

I think the problem is the purple to begin with.
This is about the Dark Side of the Moon. It should be a dark color, not a freaking purple bright red mess.
A dark blue perhaps? A deep rich purple, and a dark blue or a black?

Yeah, perhaps. And, whilst I do like the Sakura petals, I do wonder if they make reading stuff a bit difficult.

I can say yes to that. I'd actually say it's a turn off to new users.

For Cherry, it goes into the "theme" folder of the "images" folder for "DSMtheme take 1."

Yeah, I think it looks better, although there are a few other things you need to fix (some other stuff has a red background) and I'm not sure if it resolves the issue with the background making stuff hard to read sometimes.

Can you be more specific on the stuff that still has the red background?
And yay, it seems to mostly have approval (I also asked a few people in private as well)! :D

Well, announcements, notably (although that could possibly be left if you think it makes them stand out more). I've not seen anything else just yet, but I wouldn't be surprised to.
Also, I still seem to have the red background here, although that's probably a cache thing.
