Title: Tokyo Ravens

Tokyo Ravens - Promotional Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhPnLZuRcMg#)

An anime adaptation of a light novel-turned-manga series of the same name, Tokyo Ravens is set in a modern-day magical setting, and is being simulcast in the US and Canada on Funimation (http://www.funimation.com/shows/tokyo-ravens/).

Quote
From the studio behind Aquarion EVOL comes a supernatural fantasy featuring otherworldly battles and forgotten promises. Tokyo Ravens is the story of an ordinary high school boy from a not-so-ordinary family. Harutora was born into an ancient clan of onmyouji known for their mastery of all things occult. Unfortunately, he didn’t inherit the magical ability to see spirit energy, so he was doomed to live a normal life. At least, that is, until a mysterious girl from Harutora’s past returns to alter the course of his future!

Hmm, seems like it could be interesting.

I can never really work out much from these promo videos, though. They're just basically credit scenes.

I don't know if a subbed version of this exists yet, but this clip includes some background info that is relevant to the setting:

It may be worth waiting until after watching as far as Episode 4 before checking it out, however.

The second of Kon's classes is up:

Once again, best not to check it out if you haven't been keeping up with the series. Not that it's subbed either, mind you.

(Is anyone else here watching this series? I'm enjoying it so far.)

Well first time posting in this thread, so let me talk a little.

I'm really, really liking Tokyo Ravens. It's cool, I like the characters, it knows how to be climactic, the action scenes are well done and meld traditional animation well with CG, and it's shaping up to be a great story.

As for the latest episode: oh god yes.

What an awesome tension builder it was. Not only did it foreshadow and build up to Doman's attack very well, it also gave us a good look at the uneasiness Natsume and Harutora are both going through and their uncertainties regarding each other. It added some complexity to the feelings of each I think, and reminded us how awkward they both are in this sense. The interposition of Yako's quotes with Harutora's doubts also made me wonder...

We also got more of the Onmyou Agency and the Twelve Divine Generals as they prepared against Doman's sudden appearance. Combined with the rest of the episode, those sections did a great job at setting the foreboding and gloomy mood that built up before finally erupting at Doman launching his attack.

Got me so pumped for the next episode, damn!

So was it worth enduring an extra week for this episode? DAMN RIGHT IT WAS!

Let us grieve together.
Although I don't think that I have any tears left to spend.

I will be pleasantly surprised if Natsume stays dead. It probably wont happen, but it would be nice. Not because I don't care about her (I do), but because it would make me fear other character deaths; it would make them mean something. IT WOULD MAKE TOKYO RAVENS INTO JAPANESE SONG OF ICE AND FIRE!

But she'll probably will be back.

And then they'll go looking for the Dragon Balls.
