We can actually override neural impulses with technology now. We may actually be able to achieve cyborg tech sometime in the middle future with this sort of advancement. It's pretty neat either way though, cyborg tech or no. The guy will be able to move his arm again, which is really nice. :)

So thoughts, feelings, blah blah blah?

lantzblades:
If true that's great, the idea of reconstructing pathways and musculature through technology is great. I just hope it's not just smoke and mirrors. I have friends that would really benefit from this kind of advancement.

Cherry Lover:
Yeah, if this can be demonstrated to work effectively, it's really awesome. And, from that article, it certainly looks like it works, and I can't see anything that looks likely to go wrong with it.

As for cyborg stuff, well, in principle it is a step towards that possibility, and I can't see any reason why the same technology couldn't be used to control an artificial limb, but I suspect there are quite a few other problems that will arise before that becomes a reality.

SINIB:
Yeah, the future is within sight.

Ivan The Mouse:
Soon enough, we'll be able to transplant our brains or even just consciousness into machines.

Sounds like transhuman immortality, alright. But I'm impartial to it.
