The Man With All The Cute Boats:
An Etrian Odyssey IV fanfic, where the adventurers who've been through all the dungeons and done everything move on with their lives and get real jobs, except for the fortress who's just lost all semblance of motivation.

The Imperial, now a military teacher, asks the fortress to help her escort her star students into the labyrinth, to give her cadets a general idea of stuff that's out there. Running out of ental(cash), bored and called on by an old friend, the Fortress agrees.

It sort of... devolves from there. Some cadets get separated, they run into a FOE, the Imperial stays with the ground while the Fortress goes to find them, Fortress wrecks the FOE's anus in front of the cadets and warn them against straying from the group, the rest of it goes off without a hitch and the Fortress goes home.

A few days later the Fortress gets paid through mail, and gets a long and heartfelt letter of thanks from the stray cadets. The Fortress smiles to this, and gets out of bed to try to find some work of some kind.

The end.

Now no one will reply to this, because no one plays Etrian Odyssey except for me.

the idea is sound enough but you haven't determined the other details. What the cadets are, what everyone's genders are and furthermore where the characters are.

Didn't you say you just played the demo, or am I just mistaken?

Anyways the cadets, being military cadets of an imperial, are well, Imperials. In this case they're not fully trained and not outfitted with actual drive blades, so functionally they'd be like giving an imperial a sword(Very little usable skills). Level 1 sword imperials, actually, so they can barely do anything apart from hit. Usually that'd be trouble, but in this case they have two lvl 99s with them.

Fortress is a dude, and the Imperial teacher is a woman. The cadets are mixed, and there are nine of them. Over standard party rules, but they have permission to do so.

They'd be in floor 1 of the lush woodlands, a simple enough area where everyone would be safe over the careful watch of two endgame level adventurers. The FOE that finds the strays would be a vanilla Cutter, which would also explain how the Fortress wrecks it so easily.

EDIT:No wait, you're right. You've played 4, it's just that you worded it weirdly the first time so I remembered incorrectly. Sorry about that.

Played the whole game, currently in post getting schooled. And that's good bit what about the old party? Clearly you have to show them. They all got jobs right?
